Tsawwassen
*Aug. 17, 1500 Block of 53A Street: A complainant reported they applied to renew their United Kingdom passport and submitted $469 to mybritishpassport.co.uk before discovering the service was fraudulent. The complainant reported the situation to the bank, ordered a new credit card, and advised the UK Passport service.
*Aug. 17, 5500 Block of 14B Avenue: A complainant reported they were away from their home for an hour and when they returned they found the front door would not open as the lock was jammed. When they went to the back of the house they found the bedroom window screen removed and the home entered. Various pieces of costume jewellry and $100 in cash was stolen. Police attended, photographed the scene, and discussed safety plans with the complainant.
*Aug. 18, 1300 Block of 56th Street: A complainant reported they left their convertible top down while they were in the bank and $140, $70 worth of lottery tickets, and their security license was stolen. Complainant provided with a file number in order to apply for a new security license.
*Aug. 18, 1600 Block of 56th Street: A complainant reported they were informed by UPS that a package containing a $100 pair of “Crocs” had been delivered to their address. However the package was not in the mail room or at the front door of the residence. File number provided in order for UPS to process the loss.
*Aug. 18, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business manager reported the theft of a leather jacket, four shirts, and three baseball caps with a total value of $1,150. The suspect took the items into the changing room, removed the tags, and concealed the goods in their Louis Vuitton shoulder bag. Police to review security surveillance video in order to identify the suspect.
*Aug. 19, 1200 Block of 56th Street: A male entered a business, selected two fragrance sets valued at $161 and left the store without paying. Police attended and located the suspect as described by the business. The suspect was arrested for theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a previous court order. He was then transported to Surrey cells and given access to counsel.
*Aug. 20, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported a male had stolen a bucket style hat valued at $44. The suspect is described as South Asian, 25 to 30 years of age, 5’2” tall, medium build, black hair, and wearing a white crewneck sweater, and jeans. No security surveillance video available at this time.
Ladner
*Aug. 16, 9500 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Report received that a male had entered a business and took two Jerry cans, engine oil, and a bag of candy with a total value of $100 and left without paying. The suspect is described as South Asian, age in 30’s, 5’11” tall, medium build, wearing a black face mask, long sleeve burgundy shirt, and jeans. Security surveillance video available for possible identification.
*Aug. 16, 5700 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: A complainant believes they left their wallet on top of their car and drove away. The wallet contains bank and debit cards, driver license, and approximately $650 in cash. File created in case the wallet is turned in to the police.
*Aug. 16, 7900 Block of Progress Way: A business reported an attempted break and enter. An employee who lives on site, with their dog, had observed a male outside the chain link fence and believes the dog had scared off the suspect. The suspect had already cut a hole in the fence before fleeing the scene in a small grey/white sedan. Damage to the fence approximately $250.
*Aug. 16, 4800 Block of 48th Avenue: A complainant reported the theft of a kicker motor from their boat in the marina. The motor is described as a 2007 Mercury 5 HP kicker motor, black in colour with red trim, valued at $2,000. Information, regarding the motor, entered in the Canadian Police Information Centre.
*Aug. 16, 5500 Block of 48B Avenue: A complainant reported their residence had been broken into via the backdoor as indicated by the Telus alarm notification system. Nothing was stolen or broken. Police attended and secured the door for the safety of the complainant. Maintenance to be contacted for new locks.
*Aug. 18, 500 Block of Admiral Way: Two males and a female entered a construction site at night and removed a “Pit Stop” hand wash station to the bush area and then returned later with a U-Haul and stole two hand wash stations. Security surveillance video to be provided as requested by police.
