A few Tsawwassen homes have been left temporarily dry after a water main break.
The break occurred just off Timbervalley Road in the Tsawwassen Terrace subdivision on Sunday evening.
Delta's director of engineering, Steven Lan, said crews were able to isolate the problem but had to shut off a valve to begin fixing the water main, leaving about four to six households without water.
He said fixing the burst pipe has been hampered by the fact that a B.C. Hydro main runs perpendicular to the water main, but he said he expects the main to be fixed by around noon Monday.
Coun. Sylvia Bishop, who was in the area after receiving a call about the water main break from a resident, said the road buckled and lifted after being flooded with water.
Lan said that particular water main was aging and the break could have been caused simply due to age or settlement that occurred.
