Late last week, the Delta Police Department traffic unit was out at various playground zones in Delta enforcing speed limits and the results were not encouraging.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, one individual was pulled over for speeding, resulting in their car getting impounded for driving with a prohibited license.

Another individual was stopped for excessive speeding going 95km/hr in a 30km/hr playground zone. They also got their vehicle impounded along with an excessive speeding ticket.

Delta Police are reminding drivers that playground zones are in effect all year long. That means the speed limit is 30km/hr from dawn to dusk 365 days a year.
