Residents at The Waterford took advantage of the great weather with a rowdy exercise class on Wednesday afternoon in the yard between The Waterford and Olivia.
Practicing proper social distancing, residents enjoyed the session according to Janice Miller from Bria Communities.
“Our recreation staff are maximizing creativity to find ways to keep spirits high during self-isolation,” said Miller. “The thing we're celebrating is that we're still COVID-19 free. Our staff are working so hard, so are residents. We know that could turn on a dime, but we're thankful for having made it this far.”
Miller also has a message for the Easter long weekend – please no in person celebrations this year.
“That means no country drives, no Easter egg hunts, no big ham dinners with the whole family. To quote the Internet, ‘April distance brings May existence’,” said Miller. “Through the long weekend, we must keep our self-isolation guard up and keep working to flatten the curve. This requires a big sacrifice for residents and their family members. Our staff are working hard to prepare delicious Easter meals, and add other special touches for residents. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance at The Wexford on Sunday and going room-to-room to visit residents.
“We're encouraging family members to send chocolates (from The Chocolate Bear, of course) or flowers (from Flowers Beautiful) and to reach out to us to set up video chats over the Easter weekend.”
Meanwhile, The Waterford is hosting live entertainment in the Windsor Woods courtyard on Thursday and on Friday, the Wexford is hosting live entertainment in the court yard they share with CityHomes.
