The midfielder has become one of the Clan's go to players, ranking second on the team in scoring with 16 points, including 13 goals, in just seven games.

The Vancouver College graduate made an immediate impression with a hat trick in a season-opening 1612 win over Western Washington.

He managed another three goal performance in a 20-13 loss to the University of Oregon on March 3, then had a goal and one assist in a 15-9 win over the University of Florida.

Fielding a young squad after losing a number of key players to graduation, including Clare's older brother Nathan, SFU has still managed to be competitive with an overall 2-5 record. The Clan compete in the PNCLL Division along with Washington State, Washington, Montana and Idaho.

Clare also will a key newcomer with the Delta Islanders of the B.C. Junior "A" Lacrosse League once the box season gets underway. As an intermediate call-up a year ago, Clare managed 15 points in five games.

Meanwhile, one of Clare's teammates with the Islanders is living up to his pre-season All-American status at Ohio State University.

Ladner's Logan Schuss has helped the Buckeyes get off to a 3-3 overall start and is far and away their biggest threat on attack.

The junior has 25 points, including 19 goals. The next highest point total on the Ohio State roster is eight.
