The Ladner Pioneers look poised to make a run at a third-straight President’s Cup lacrosse title.

The two-time defending champs just completed a dominate 16-0 regular season in the West Coast Senior Lacrosse League, which wraps up on July 20.

Following playoffs and a league winner being crowned, the stage will be set for the President’s Cup, which Ladner will host Aug. 25 to 31 featuring league champions from across the country.

The Pioneers wrapped their league regular season with an 18-2 win at home on July 11 against Nanaimo.

Tyler Pace led the scoring with a goal and seven assists while James Rahe added four goals and three assists.

Christian Del Bianco stopped 34 of 36 shots for his league leading 10th win.

As you can imagine with such a dominate season, the Islanders top every scoring category averaging 19.4 goals for average, a +236 goal differential, a 53 per cent power play and 79 per cent penalty killing average.

They also have seven of the top 10 league scorers: Pace (33G, 77A) – 110 points, Spencer Bromley (33G, 53A) – 86 points, Haiden Dickson (47G, 36A) – 83 points, Rahe (32G, 31A) – 63 points, Mark Yingling (22G, 23A) – 45 points, Keegan Kozak (21G, 23A), and Jason Jones (17G, 25A) – 42 points.

Goaltender Del Bianco sports a perfect 10-0 record in 14 games played with a 4.62 GAA and 8.82 save percentage, while back-up Matt Hills is 6-0 with a 4.84 GAA and a 8.17 save percentage.
