U10 Delta Footmen reached the podium at the Swashbuckler Heartbreak Cup in Seattle

Under blue skies in the shadow of Mount Rainer, the Delta Footmen U10 Selects lacrosse team participated in 2015 Swashbuckler Heartbreak Cup lacrosse tournament in Seattle.

The event featured the best field lacrosse teams in the U11 to U15 age brackets from Southern California to British Columbia.

The Footmen U10 Selects, comprised of players from North and South Delta, played very well throughout the tournament, finishing the round robin portion with an impressive 3-1-1 record.

The results included a hard fought come from behind 2-2 tie against Rose City (Portland), the eventual tournament winners.

Unfortunately the Footmen's 3-1-1 record meant they wouldn't get their desired rematch against Rose City and would instead be playing in the bronze medal game later in the day.

With chins up the boys faced the Mount Si Wildcats, beating them handily 5-1. Coaches Greg Sambrook and Drew Abramson were very happy with the boys' efforts and commitment to defence and team play.

The roster includes Niles Abramson (G), Taebyn Brown, Aiden Currivan, Marcus Hille, Jacob Jansen, Antonio Luey, Jared Maznik, Aleksander Oclarino, Reece Palmer, Payden Purchas-Duch, Tiago Saieva, Tristan Sambrook, Robert Sheldrick, Cameron Squarek, Owen Turpie, Rylan Weisbrod, and Riley Williams.
