North Delta Secondary is the latest local school to be added to Fraser Health’s website listing COVID-19 school exposures.
According to the health region, the exposure occurred Nov. 12th and 13th, but does not indicate whether a student, teacher or other staff were infected while attending the school.
Also currently on the exposure list are Delta Secondary, Delview Secondary, South Delta Secondary, Sands Secondary and Gray Elementary.
Jarvis Elementary remains closed after a cluster of reported cases.
Other schools in recent weeks were also on the list for a time but later removed.
The province this week announced a new rapid response team will take the lead on combatting COVID-19 in B.C. schools.
The new team will be focused on the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions where school exposures have been increasing quickly in the past couple of weeks.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said she has put one of her deputies in charge of the school situation and that deputy will take a coordinated approach to identifying and managing school exposures and outbreaks quickly.
