I would like to bring to the attention of C. Jantzen that the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders Army Cadets is not a "brand new army cadet regiment" as stated in the letter.

The 72nd Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Cadet Battalion was raised in 1912, nearly 100 years ago, and many of those who passed through it attained a general's rank.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those youngsters living in Delta who wish to serve in a cadet battalion with an "army" emphasis and a Highland tradition to do so without the long drive to the Vancouver Armoury every Thursday night, which I did with my son.

As a serving member of this storied regiment, I see the tremendous pride of not only the regimental members, but also of the cadets who wear the Seaforth Mackenzie tartan.
