Editor:

Congratulations to Coun. Boisvert for completely misrepresenting & misunderstanding the Friends of Ladner Village’s position & petitions on housing by accusing us of “FLIP- FLOPPING” on housing when he spoke at the Sept. 23 council mtg - where he voted in favour of a Chisholm St. hotel resulting in eviction of a number of Ladner businesses.

To set the record straight, our members have never been against housing on the Dunbar site.

What more than 750 residents objected to is the height, size and lack of heritage design on the Dunbar site.

And yes, 318 residents recently signed a petition against a Chisholm St. hotel, but in favour of better long-term housing such as a Co-op on the site.

But thank you to more enlightened, big picture visionaries such as Coun. Guichon, Mayor Harvie and Coun. Dosanjh who voted against a Chisholm hotel, while being more in support of long-term housing on the Chisholm site.
