The United States is economically and militarily the most powerful nation on earth. It is also Canada's largest trading partner and closest neighbour.
The George Massey Tunnel forms a section of the predominant vehicular transportation conduit between that country and Canada's third largest city. During two peak rush-hour periods, five days per week - for an approximate total of five hours per day - the tunnel restricts traffic flow to one lane in at least one direction.
In the 21st century, that tunnel's current hillbilly inadequacy, in my opinion, is arguably the greatest embarrassment that the provincial government currently inflicts upon British Columbians.
