Protesters need new approach to connect with public

From the perspective of an 84-year-old, the history of the occupy movement is worrisome.

The first thing that worried me was that Wall Street had been occupied for about two weeks before any news media in B.C. mentioned it.

Was that deliberate?

The second was when

Occupy Vancouver started with a rally of thousands, it was downplayed.

The third was the demonstrators had to be squeaky clean to really connect with the general public.

They blew it when they allowed drug parties.

This has allowed the anti-protesters, a large part of the population that the protesters were trying to approach, to ignore what the original protests were all about.

It's about time the protesters went home and tried to come up with something else like weekly or monthly rallies in different places and remember it is not a party.
