I am writing to express my appreciation to members of the Tsawwassen community that aided in the search for and recovery of my dog.

While we were on vacation guests in our home inadvertently, and to their horror, allowed Ellie, my rescued greyhound, to escape from the house.

Ellie is an strictly "on-leash dog" and if allowed free will run long distances and is unable to find her way home. Local volunteers from the rescue group, Greyhound Pets Incorporated, family members and some Tsawwassen residents looked for Ellie for more than 12 hours.

A Good Samaritan named Donna found Ellie the next morning and returned her to my visiting sister-in-law, who was relieved but in the turmoil neglected to get Donna's details.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and particularly Donna for finding Ellie and tracking down her home. It would have been a sad homecoming had Ellie been lost forever.
