Vehicle and pedestrian access to the new development would be from 92 Avenue.

The City of Delta has begun gathering public feedback for another high-density residential development application at the busy Scott Road corridor.

The rezoning, subdivision and development permit proposal would see 134-condo units in a six-storey building and 51 townhouses in eight, three-storey buildings at 11944 92 Ave., located just off Scott Road.

The site currently comprises 10 older buildings with a total of 34, two-storey townhomes with adjacent carports.

According to the planning department, the development proposal is consistent with the Scott Road Corridor (SRC) designation in the proposed new Official Community Plan (OCP).

It is a standalone designation for the area along 120 St., stretching from 96 to 68 avenues. The proposed designation offers opportunities for the highest density in the city fronting Scott Road, with transitional heights moving westward.

The planning department also notes that, under new provincial legislation, a public hearing cannot be held for zoning bylaw amendments for residential development that is consistent with the OCP.

A public information meeting will be held Tuesday, July 9, at the Annieville Elementary School gymnasium, from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m.
