Family homes in a well-placed community is clearly a draw in Delta, as Sunshine Hills/Woods is the most searched-for neighbourhood by the city’s home hunters, a new infographic by property website REW reveals.
The data analysts at REW also found that Delta property seekers have generous budgets, as the most popular home search in the area is a three-bedroom detached house in the $1.25-1.5 million range.
The graphic also looks at Delta home sales and listings in the first six months of the year, compared with the same period in 2017. It reveals condo sale prices are seven per cent higher than a year ago (averaging $537,228 across Q1 and Q2), and detached home sale prices saw the same percentage increase, to around $1.13 million.
It looks like sellers in that time might have overadjusted their price expectations, with the average single-family listing price one per cent lower than in 2017, at over $1.48 million – still way above the average sale price, however. Condo sellers were even less realistic, with their average list price of $658,703 a whopping 13 per cent up over one year previously.
