In a time when community support is more important than ever, KinVillage has moved one step closer to creating a much-needed space for seniors, thanks to the generous donation from Blair and Arlyne Ledingham. Their gift not only demonstrates the power of giving but also shines a light on the difference one act of kindness can make in the lives of others.
KinVillage proudly announced a $50,000 donation from long-time community members Blair and Arlyne Ledingham to the 'It Takes A Village' Capital Campaign. This contribution marks a significant step toward reaching the campaign's $3 million goal, which will fund the construction of a new space dedicated to serving seniors and supporting their caregivers.
“We are happy to join the 'It Takes a Village' Campaign to help fund the new Day Program space and give back to the community we’ve been part of for 55 years. This new space will enable KinVillage to continue their wonderful programs for older adults and provide much-needed respite for their caregivers and families,” say Blair and Arlyne Ledingham.
Their generous support will help expand the program’s capacity to serve up to 25 participants daily, offering essential care, social engagement and activities that improve the quality of life for seniors while providing caregivers with the relief they need to avoid burnout and continue supporting their loved ones.
“Blair & Arlyne’s generosity will have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of many seniors in our community, ensuring they receive the care, support, and companionship they deserve. Your gift is not only an investment in their well-being but a testament to the power of community and the difference one person can make,” says Jennifer Fisher, CEO of KinVillage.
“Thank you, Arlene and Blair, for your $50,000 donation in support of the It Takes a Village campaign. Your contribution brings us one step closer to our goal of providing essential support to our community’s older adults and offering much-needed respite to their caregivers. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and belief in this cause,” says Kristen Thomas, director of development.
KinVillage is halfway to their $3 million goal, still needing to raise $1.5 million to make this new space for the Day Program for Older Adults a reality. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference in providing a safe, engaging environment for seniors and the respite caregivers need.
