Do you have an older tween or teen (ages 10 to 17) in your family who loves the game Pictionary? Playing this game allows for a deeper understanding of word meanings, but that comes second to the laughter and fun as they compete with peers to see who can guess the most as library staff poorly draw a variety of things!
Space is limited so register soon for a game of Tweens and Teens Pictionary on Wednesday, March 23, from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
Parents, do you have a child between the ages of six to 12 who has the best pet ever?
Register your child for Pet Parade, a virtual show and tell, then have them join in on the fun on Friday, March 25, from 2 to 2:45 p.m. to introduce us to their animal companions. No pets? Bring a treasured stuffie instead!
Children can share a story about their pet or tell us about their favourite tricks and treats.
Do you enjoy word games? Playing word games can develop important language skills such as spelling and building vocabulary for the younger crowd and keep the brain function limber in the older set! But the first and more important reason is – they’re fun!
Families are invited to register for the virtual program Word Nerds, then join us for an entertaining game of word scrambles on Monday, March 28, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Players will be given a series of scrambled letters to make as many words as possible in a set amount of time. Challenge your mind, memory and vocabulary while competing as individuals or as a team. Enjoy some wholesome, family-friendly fun.
