Veggies, spice and everything nice: Sampling the best red curries in South Delta

Curry cravings? These South Delta Thai spots have you covered

I don’t know about you, but when I am in the mood for a really tasty dish, the first thing that comes to my mind is a good curry.

Thai food has so many different curry options that are always so full of flavour, leaving my family and I feeling so satisfied. I tried out a few local Thai restaurants to taste the red curry options available and here is what I found.

First let’s start in sunny Tsawwassen with Thai- Issan Cuisine and Café.

First impression was the wonderful smells. You could almost taste the flavour of the red curry in the air.

The dish was filled with lots of veggies…peppers, zucchini, red onions, basil, bamboo shoots as well as chicken, as that was the protein I chose.

I loved how you could really taste all the flavours of the veggies blended with the flavour of curry in the broth.

Next up was Rice and Noodle in Ladner.

Here you have the option to pick your spice level and add more veggies as well.

The dish originally comes with yam and broccoli, but I really liked how you could customize your dish to your preference.

Spice wise I went with a mild version which was very nice and easy to eat.

The crunch of the veggies was fun mixed with smoothness of the curry. The portion was smaller here, but so was the price.

I also tried the newer Soi Ram also located in Ladner.

This dish was filled to the brim with juicy chicken chunks and flooded with thin strips of bamboo, red pepper and of course basil.

The coconut milk flavour was much more present in this dish, leaving you with a sweeter, creamer texture and taste.

Each dish was delicious and had its own unique flavour, so it really comes down to what you are in the mood for that day.

I was looking for all the curry and flavour I could get, therefore, the dish from Thai -Issan really packed a satisfying punch.

Now the only question left is, which colour of curry to try next?
