In the cold November days, a bright and cheerful art gallery is a destination you won’t want to miss.
The artists from the South Delta Artists’ Guild have been busy creating. Most people are not painters, but with a little training it is possible to develop an artistic vision unique to your view of the world. If you’re looking for a wonderful hobby, this is one of the most creative endeavors you can take on.
We see the mundane in our universe, but the artists looks for a new angle, an ode to beauty, or a social comment expressed in art. With a little training and a digital camera, you can open your eyes to the possibility that art can be your next creative step to get through the pandemic. Art books can get you started, and going to the gallery lets you see the possibilities that have blossomed with a little canvas, paper, brushes and paint. Abstracting an image lets us look at it from a different angle.
If you’re content to be a viewer, the new show “Deck the Walls” is a go to destination. Located in Gallery 1710 beside the South Delta Rec center, viewing hours are Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4:00 pm. Social distancing paths and arrows are for your safety as is a contact sheet at the door.
Bring your mask and prepare to be surprised.
Many images have been hung this month and our walls have expanded with panels showing smaller works crafted by our artisans. If a visit is not possible, consider a virtual visit online by going to www.southdeltaartistsguild.com. We look forward to seeing you, welcome input, and your name added to our email list.
If you want to be a participant, join the guild. For as little as $10/month, you can become a member, join us for demonstrations, and get advance information on workshops and shows Some paintings in the current show are shown below.
