Another three drivers are facing hefty fines and vehicle impounds after being pulled over by police for excessive speeding.

Delta police are continuing its road safety messages on social media asking drivers to slow down on area roads.

On Tuesday, DPD shared several recent excessive speeding incidents, which resulted in heavy fines and vehicle impounds.

The drivers were all pulled over by police on Highway 17.

One driver with a Class 7 Learner tag with three passengers in the vehicle was clocked at 139km/h in an 80-km zone. The driver received a $695 fine, and a seven-day impound of their vehicle.

Another driver, who told police that they were late for a job interview, was travelling at 142km/h in an 80-km zone.

The driver was fined $483, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Finally, officers pulled over a repeat speeding offender – this time travelling 130km/h in an 80-km zone. The driver was fined $368, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

“We are reminding our road users to slow down, follow traffic rules and arrive alive,” said police.
