Aug. 27, 11400 Block 93A Avenue: Complainant reported the front license plate from their vehicle had been stolen. Complainant was unsure of when/where theft occurred; the license plate mount had clearly been cut off. CCTV from the residence did not provide any evidence of the plate being stolen. File initiated to enter plate information into police database as stolen.

Aug. 28, 10800 Block River Road: While conducting a routine roadblock, police administered a breath test to a driver who was displaying signs consistent with liquor consumption. The driver provided two breath samples that resulted in a ‘fail’ reading. The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days. The driver left the scene in a taxi.

Aug. 31, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported being the victim of fraud after transferring $3,000 to an unknown male who stated the complainant had received a bunch of crypto money and they needed to sign into their bank accounts to receive it. The following day, the complainant noticed money had been withdrawn from two bank accounts. Complainant had accounts frozen, passwords for all banking and investment accounts have been changed. Complainant unable to provide information as to where money was sent as accounts were frozen. Numbers for Canadian Anti-fraud Center, Equifax, and Trans Union provided to complainant for follow up.

Sept. 1, 14000 Block 84th Avenue: Police observed a driver that was unable to maintain the vehicle’s lane position and crossed over the centre line multiple times. After conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle, police detected a distinct odour of liquor emanating from the vehicle, and the driver’s breath. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol 30 minutes prior. Breath samples resulted in a ‘fail’ reading. A 90-day immediate roadside prohibition was issued, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30-days. The driver departed in an Uber.

Sept. 2, 11900 Block 88th Avenue: Complainant reported the theft of their cell phone while shopping at a local business. Complainant put the cell phone down for two minutes and when they went back to grab it, the phone was gone. Cell phone described as black Tecno android with a clear case valued at approximately $400. No CCTV or tracking available, calls to phone unanswered.
