North Delta Crime Beat: $4,000 worth of golf clubs stolen from vehicle parked in carport

The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. *Sept. 4, 10400 Block of Santa Monica Drive: Complainant reported their golf clubs, golf bag, and apparel valued at $4,000, stolen sometime overnight, from their vehicle parked in their carport. Surveillance video was available, but did not capture anything for identification. No suspects or witnesses.

*Sept. 5, 1100 Block of Derwent Way: A business reported the theft of two laptops, a tablet, and work clothing from an office trailer. It is believed the theft occurred sometime over the past two weeks. No witnesses or surveillance video. 

*Sept. 6, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant informed they have credit card balances of $3,000 on several credit cards that have been fraudulently opened in their name. Police provided the complainant with a file number and advised them to follow up with all the banking institutions involved. Equifax and TransUnion informed of the fraud and will monitor.  

*Sept. 6, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported they purchased tickets for $400 via e-transfer online, using Facebook Marketplace, but the tickets were never received. Complainant has informed the bank, who advised they may be reimbursing them for the lost funds. Report was made for documentation purposes only.

*Sept. 7, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported their bank account had been hacked, and $3,000 had been sent to an email address unknown to the complainant. The bank informed the complainant of the incident, and indicated they will be investigating upon receiving a police file number.  Equifax and TransUnion informed of the incident.

*Sept. 8, 8800 Block of Delvista Drive: Complainant reported, the catalytic converter stolen overnight from their vehicle, parked in the driveway. No witnesses, suspects, or surveillance video.

*Sept. 10, 8800 Block 119th Street: Complainant reported their black Honda CRV was stolen from a parking lot. The complainant left the vehicle with the car and house keys in it, when they returned the vehicle was gone. Complainant had already changed their house locks. Police to continue investigation, upon receiving surveillance video from the area. Vehicle information entered on the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.
