Oct. 30, 8000 Block of 120 Street: Complainant reported she locked several items in her locker at the gym. When she returned three days later the locker was empty. The items stolen include a black T-shirt, white running shoes, a white/silver MAC handbag, black PRADA wallet, and $300 in cash. The complainant indicated the locker was kept locked and that nobody else had a key. The incident is still under investigation by police with examination of surveillance video.
Oct. 31, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported they received a message on WhatsApp asking them to send $1,500 to a friend using the app TapTap. The complainant sent the money as requested before they realized they were the victim of fraud. Police will continue to investigate the fraud when requested information is received.
Nov. 1, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported they had clicked a link on Facebook for “Target Platform” and subsequently sent $28,000 via e-transfer to Newton Crypto Exchange as an investment. Over the next few days $17,000 was sent before the complainant realized they were the victim of fraud. The complainant is in contact with their bank who have opened an investigation.
Nov. 3, 11500 Block of 72nd Avenue: Police stopped a vehicle and checked for sobriety of the driver. A strong odour of liquor emanated from the driver, and two breath samples provided resulted in the driver being given a 24-hour immediate roadside suspension. A ticket was also given for failure to produce a driver’s licence. The vehicle was picked up by a sober driver.
Nov. 2, 11400 Block of 89A Avenue: Complainant reported their van stolen from their residence and later located in Surrey. The rear door pad lock was broken, and approximately $5,000 in tools stolen. The incident is still under investigation by police for recovery of tools. The complaint was advised to report the incident to ICBC.
