June 25, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported that two South Asian males removed a security tag from a $50 white T-shirt and left the store without offering payment. Police liaised with mall security, and it was revealed the suspects also stole a shirt from another store and left the area in a grey 2010 Ford Fusion. The incident is still under investigation as the surveillance video also provided the license number of the suspects’ vehicle.
June 26, 1700 Block of Braid Road: Complainant reported the license plate stolen from their vehicle, sometime over the past three weeks while the complainant was out of the country. The plate is to be added to the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.
June 28, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported that they had received a call from someone indicating they were from the bank and that fraudulent activity had occurred in the complainant’s account. The complainant provided the caller with their banking and personal information. The complainant realized they had been defrauded when they discovered a charge of $4,300 to their account which they had not made. Police provided the complainant with a file number for the bank to proceed with an investigation.
June 29, 200 Block of English Bluff Road: Police found that the medical station at Fred Gingell Park had been ripped out and left on the ground causing $5,000 in damage. Both the AED and first aid kit were soaked from the park’s sprinkler system. There was no surveillance video or witnesses available.
June 30, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported that a male youth entered a store and stole a pair of boots valued at $219. Police attended, and after examining surveillance video, located the male at the bus stop who was still in possession of the boots. The boots were seized and returned to the store. The youth was transported to his home where he was released into the care of his parents.

June 26, 4900 Block of 48th Avenue: A citizen reported seeing a catalytic converter being stolen from a vehicle, and two suspects fleeing in a white SUV. Police attended and patrolled the area finding a vehicle with a missing catalytic converter. The owner of the vehicle was notified. The incident is still under investigation.
June 26, 5800 Block of Admiral Boulevard: Complainant reported that the catalytic converter had been cut from their vehicle, sometime overnight, causing $2,500 in damage. A witness indicated they heard power tools in the night and observed a possible suspect leaving the area in a white hatchback. The incident is still under investigation.
June 27, 5300 Block of Bentley Crescent: Complainant reported the break in of two vehicles parked at their residence. Both vehicles had been rummaged through and several valuable items stolen. There was no exterior damage to the doors or locks. Identification services attended and processed the vehicle for fingerprints.
June 27, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported receiving a message on their computer from someone indicating they were Apple technical support and provided a phone number to call as the computer had been hacked. The complainant called the number and gave remote access to their computer. They also provided technical support with passwords and banking information. The complainant then became suspicious and called their bank, who confirmed an unauthorized charge had been made to their account. The bank cancelled the credit card, and the complainant was reimbursed.
June 28, 3600 Block of Hwy 17: Police stopped a vehicle travelling at 138 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver was served with a speeding ticket and was given a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver transported home by taxi.
