Tsawwassen

May 28, 400 Block of Centennial Parkway: Complainant left their unlocked vehicle parked overnight in front of their residence. In the morning, they found the vehicle had been entered and their wallet and clothing were missing. The wallet contained personal bank cards, and cash. Two fraudulent transactions were made with the debit card at a service station for a total of $289. There was no damage to the vehicle, and nothing suitable from surveillance video.

May 28, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported that they had clicked on a fraudulent link on their computer posing as PayPal support. The complainant went on to input their banking information on this site with a loss of $13,000.  Police queried the website with negative results. PayPal confirmed with the complainant that the link was fraudulent. Police provided the complainant with a file number for the bank to investigate the fraud. Email regarding the fraud was sent to Canada Anti-Fraud Center.

May 31, 6400 Block of Hammermill Avenue: Complainant reported that sometime overnight, someone broke into their vehicle, and then used the garage opener to enter the garage, and stole items valued at approximately $1,500. Complainant confirmed they had left the vehicle unlocked. No witnesses or surveillance video.

May 31, 5000 Block of Willow Springs Avenue: A complainant reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the street in front of their residence. Police attended and confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Surrey.  The vehicle was towed to a secure bay for examination by identification services. 

May 31, 1000 Block of Golf Club Drive: Complainant reported that they left their unlocked vehicle parked in front of their residence, and sometime during the night the vehicle was entered by unknown suspects. The garage door opener was used to enter the garage, nothing was stolen. The garage door opener was disconnected by the complainant.  Examination of surveillance video proved negative.  

May 31, 5000 Block of Willow Springs Avenue: Complainant reported that two vehicles stolen from their property. Access to the residence gained by suspects through the garage door opener left in the unlocked vehicle in the driveway. It is believed the GPS was ripped from one of the vehicles. The investigation is to continue regarding the recovery of the vehicles.

June 1, 1700 Block of 56th Street: A parent reported the theft of their son’s clarinet from the lacrosse box at the recreation centre. The son left the clarinet in the box during practice and realized he had forgotten it when he got home. A check with the recreation centre for the clarinet proved negative. Report received for insurance purposes.

May 28, 4600 Block of 46A Street: Complainant reported the theft of a lawn mower from their carport. Surveillance video shows a male taking the mower and leaving the area in a U-Haul pickup truck. License plate or face of suspect not visible on surveillance video.  Complainant to watch for the sale of the mower on internet marketplaces. 

May 29, 5100 Block of Linden Drive: Complainant left their wallet in the glove compartment of their unlocked vehicle parked on the street. When they returned to the vehicle, the wallet was gone. The wallet contained various bank, personal, and gift cards.  Bank cards were cancelled, and ID cards reported to authorities. Surveillance video proved negative as the vehicle was parked behind a hedge. 

May 30, Hwy 10 & Hwy 99: While conducting mobile enforcement in the area, police followed a vehicle onto the highway and observed it accelerate to 155 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver identified as the registered owner.  Tickets were issued for driving at an excessive speed and failing to produce a valid driver’s license. An immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment was issued, and the vehicle towed from the scene. 

June 1, 4800 Block of Delta Street: Complainant reported graffiti was drawn on their van while parked on the street. The graffiti was a tag design drawn with brown marker on the hood of the vehicle. No surveillance video or witnesses in the area. 

June 1, 6500 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: A business reported that a male entered the store and selected two bottles of liquor valued at $154 and left with payment. The clerk indicated the suspect threw a toonie at them before fleeing the store. The suspect is described as Caucasian, average build, wearing a grey hoodie, pants, and sunglasses. Still photos of the suspect to be collected from surveillance video for dissemination.
