Tsawwassen
*Oct. 25, 1200 Block of 56th Street: A business reported a male and female exit the store with two grocery carts full of items, mainly meat, worth approximately $500 without payment. Police provided with surveillance video and will disseminate still photographs of the suspects for possible identification.
*Oct. 27, 1700 Block of Tsawwassen Drive: Complainant reported their storage unit had been broken into sometime during the past month. The suspect cut two metal locks to access the unit. Items stolen include tools and several pieces of framed art with a total of value of approximately $1,000. No surveillance video or witnesses.
*Oct. 27, police headquarters 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they had attempted to renew their Nexus card online however, they used a fraudulent website. Personal information and a credit card number were provided to the site. The bank was informed, and the credit card cancelled. Police advised the complainant to inform TransUnion and Equifax in order that their account be monitored for any suspicious activity.
*Oct. 27, 1200 Block of 56th Street: A business reported a male had entered the store and selected $320 worth of cologne, concealed the items in a black duffel bag and left the store without payment. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 35 to 50 years of age, wearing a black hoody and grey sweatpants with a red stripe. Surveillance video to be disseminated of the suspect for possible identification.
*Oct. 27, 5000 Block of 12th Avenue: During a police walkthrough at the park three teenagers were found in the dug-out with an open bottle of Hennessy Very Special Cognac. The liquor was seized for destruction and a ticket for a minor in possession of alcohol issued to one of the teenagers.
*Oct. 28, 5300 Block of Upland Drive: Police confirmed a vehicle parked outside the residence of the complainant was stolen from Burnaby. The vehicle was towed to a secure lot and the Burnaby RCMP were notified. The vehicle was removed from the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.
*Oct. 28, 5500 Block of 16A Avenue: Police, following a vehicle, observed the driver failing to signal while making turns. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver checked for sobriety. Two breath samples provided by the suspect both read “Fail”. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The driver’s license seized, and the vehicle towed from the scene. The driver left the scene by foot.
*Oct. 28, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported a male had selected clothing worth $260, concealed it, and left the store without offering payment. Mall security was informed and tracked the suspect until police arrived. Police attended and arrested the male for theft under $5,000. The suspect was apologetic and forthcoming with the stolen merchandise. The merchandise was returned, and the suspect released without charges. The suspect served with a one-year civil ban from the mall.
Ladner
*Oct. 23, 5400 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Complainant reported they left their bike locked up and when they returned most of the bike was gone. The frame was the only part of the bike that was left. No witnesses or surveillance video available.
*Oct. 24, 7300 Block of River Road: A business reported a break and enter which had occurred during the night. The point of entry was a glass door that had been broken to gain access. The suspect attempted to steal the ATM, but was unsuccessful. Police attended and obtained surveillance video. The complainant advised by police to report the incident to their insurance company. Police to provide additional patrols in the area.
*Oct. 25, 5000 Block of 47th Avenue: Complainant reported someone entered the fully fenced construction site and stole a live power box and cables worth $2,000. Police attended, but a canvass of the area for surveillance video or witnesses proved negative.
*Oct. 27, 2800 Block of Hwy 17: Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle where the driver was suspected of impaired driving. Two breath samples were provided by the driver, and both read “Fail”. The driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver picked up by taxi.
*Oct. 29, 3600 Block of Hwy 17: Police observed a vehicle travelling at 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. Due to the excessive speed, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver given a speeding ticket. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the drive left area by taxi.
