Friday, June 21 was the Fraser Delta Interlock 13U A Tier 1 Championship baseball game, between the Ladner Bombers and North Delta Yankees.

Each team entered the finals with a 1-1 series split.

Coaches Paul Nakagawa, Kyle Cashin and Spencer Underhill lead the Bombers to a championship win by the score of 8-5.

Dashten Kingston helped with an RBI and made a game winning solo double play to secure the championship.

The game was dominated by unbelievable pitching from Bryden Nakagawa and Cory Maxwell.

Catcher Dante Mollica kept the ball in front of him ensuring no players stealing home.

Corey Maxwell added three RBIs, plus Leif Bustin and Mitchell Underhill picked up a couple of the other RBI’s.

Theo Mollica was a wall letting nothing past at second base. Outfielders like Jaxon Davies were quick on their feet making sure to get the ball in quickly, including Thomas Polhill who threw a laser-beam from right field to get a crucial out at second. Base runners had spectators on edge all game, Kayden Cashin and Atlin Froh used their quick feet and thinking to steal multiple bases each.

Jacob Scott kept his teammates positive and always had an encouraging word when things got tough, he had three hits on the night and came in as the closing pitcher to finish the game.

The Bombers chants and cheers could be heard loud and clear; as Ladner Pride ran high at the ball diamond that night!

The North Delta Yankees were a tough competitor making it a close game at the end. Congratulations to the Ladner Rockets for a great year and the Ladner Mariners for winning the regular season.
