Junior T1 Islanders in league semifinals

The Junior B Tier 1 Delta Islanders lacrosse team will play host to game one of their best-of-three semifinal playoff series with Coquitlam tonight (Friday) at the Ladner Leisure Centre. Game time is 8 p.m.

The Junior B Tier 1 Delta Islanders lacrosse team will play host to game one of their best-of-three semifinal playoff series with Coquitlam tonight (Friday) at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

Game time is 8 p.m.

Game two of the series is Saturday night in Coquitlam at 6 p.m. with a game three (if necessary) Tuesday night (July 23) in Coquitlam at 7:30 p.m. The game or games in Coquitlam will be at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.

The Adanacs had a first-round bye, while the Islanders beat the New West Salmonbellies 2-0 in their best-of-three quarterfinal series with a 6-3 win at home and a 10-4 win in New West.

The Islanders finished fourth in the regular season with a 12-6 record.

BC Junior ‘A’

The BC Junior ‘A’ season is now over for the Islanders who dropped their last three regular season games, 10-9 to New West, 12-7 to Coquitlam and 12-7 to the Poco Saints on July 13 at home.

Overall, the Islanders finished with a 5-13 record and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Tier 2

The West Coast Junior Lacrosse League season is also in the books for the Tier 2 Islanders who finished with a record of 6-10 and fifth place in the standings just missing a spot in the playoffs.
