Voters in Delta South now have only two choices when they step into the polling station Oct. 19 and help elect a new government in Victoria.
Recently, the BC Green Party announced that UVic political science and Indigenous studies student Sophia Borghetto was running for the party in the riding.
But after the close of nominations Sept. 28, only two names are now on the candidate list, NDP candidate Jason McCormick and BC Conservative party candidate Ian Paton.
Green party spokesperson Rippon Madtha explained however that Borghetto didn’t collect enough signatures before the deadline.
Elections BC requires signatures from 75 residents of the riding before the Sept. 28 deadline for filing nomination papers.
