Sept. 10, Headquarters 4455 Clarence Taylor Way: Complainant reported the theft of their bicycle from outside a local business which was left briefly unattended. The value of the stolen bike is approximately $106. Photos and serial numbers recorded for information purposes.

Sept. 12, 1200 Block 56th Street: Police observed two women exit a local pub and enter a vehicle. A traffic stop conducted by police resulted in the driver admitting to consuming alcohol. Two breath samples provided resulted in a “Fail” reading. Driver was served with a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30-days. The driver and passenger left the area in a taxi.

Sept. 12, 5200 Block Belair Drive: Police recovered a stolen van reported stolen from Vancouver on Sept 4. Witness canvas determined the van had been parked on Belair likely since Sept 4. The ignition and door lock were both damaged. The owner was notified, but a suspect or suspects have not been identified.

Sept. 14, 1000 Block 56th Street: While conducting patrols of the area, police observed a grey Toyota reverse on 56th Street and pull into a parking lot. The male driver provided two breath samples resulting in two “Fail” readings. The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days. The driver left in a taxi.

Sept. 9, 8000 Block River Road: Complainant reported the theft of construction tools/equipment valued at approximately $4,500 from their property on River Road. The stolen items included five drill batteries, two cordless grinders, and 450 feet of welding cable that belonged to contractors working on site. No CCTV available. Report filed for information purposes.

Sept. 10, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Way: Complainant reported being the victim of fraud after receiving a letter from “Readers Digest” advising them they had won $1.567 million US dollars. Complainant contacted attached phone number and was advised they would be sent two cheques for deposit and to withdraw the cash from their account and send the money to an address in Vancouver. Complainant withdrew and sent $9,580 via Purolator to the Vancouver address provided by unknown suspect. File under investigation.

Sept. 11, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Way: Complainant reported the theft of their son’s bicycle from their high school. The stolen bike is described as a light brown/gold Norco Mountain bike with red pedals and black/blue seat, valued at $200. CCTV canvass proved negative.

Sept. 14, 5800 Block 60th Avenue: Police conducting a roadblock detected a strong odour of liquor emanating from a driver who admitted to consuming alcohol. Two breath samples provided resulted in “Fail” readings. Police issued the driver a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30-days. Driver was also issued a ticket for expired vehicle insurance from May 2024.
