Tsawwassen

Oct. 22, 1200 Block of 56th Street: Police observed a vehicle driving northbound in the southbound lane, then coming to a stop in the parking lot of a business. Police made contact with the driver who admitted to consuming alcohol 30 minutes prior to the stop. Two breath samples were provided by the driver, and both read ‘fail.’ As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, a 30-day vehicle impoundment, and their driver’s license seized. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area with no issues.

Oct. 24, 5900 Block of 12th Avenue: Police stopped a vehicle leaving the pub area and the driver admitted to the consumption of alcohol earlier in the evening. Two breath samples were provided by the driver, and both read ‘warn.’ As a result, the driver was given a 24-hour immediate roadside suspension, and the vehicle was legally left in the parking lot. 

Oct. 24, 1200 Block of 56th Street: A business reported a male suspect described as Caucasian, 50 years old, with spiky blonde hair, entered the store and selected four packages of Bison steaks valued at $52 and fled. The employees recognized the suspect as a person previously banned from the store. Police advised the store to call police immediately if the person enters the store again. 

Oct. 27, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business informed police that two males had entered the store two days earlier, selected 21 items of clothing, and left without offering payment. Estimated value of items stolen is $4,400. No associated vehicle observed. Police requested information from the Loss Prevention Officer, and surveillance video to investigate the incident.

Oct. 27, 4700 Block of Nulelum Way: Police observed a male leave the liquor store and walk a fair distance to their vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle, which was parked in a distant location despite ample parking availability by the store. The driver denied consuming alcohol in the last 24 hours. Two breath samples were provided by the driver, and both read ‘fail.’ As a result, they were given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left on foot to walk home. 

Ladner

Oct. 21, 3600 Block of Hwy 17: Police followed a vehicle accelerating at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 143 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver was given a speeding ticket for driving at an excessive speed, an immediate roadside suspension, and the vehicle impounded. The driver was picked up by a friend. 

Oct. 26, 5400 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Police stopped a vehicle leaving the pub area.  An odour of alcohol emanated from the driver who admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. Two breath samples were provided by the driver, and both read ‘fail.’ As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area on foot.
