Sept. 17, 4100 Block of Salish Sea Way: Complainant reported their vehicle parked at their place of business was broken into while they were at work. The passenger window was broken, and a fake Lacoste messenger bag was stolen. The Loss Prevention Officer was to provide police with surveillance video.
Sept. 18, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported two males in their late teens left the store and set off the exit alarm. Staff confronted the males and recovered $88 worth of store merchandise. The males then fled the area. An investigation was to continue with the assistance of the store employee.
Sept. 19, 4900 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported observing a male select and conceal merchandise, then leave the store without payment. The male left the area in a black Ford F150, and police were provided with the license number. An investigation found the vehicle to be associated with previous thefts. Police to continue investigation with the assistance of surveillance video.
Sept. 19, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: Report received from a business indicating a male and female stole Saxx underwear and a shirt from the store. Police attended, but the suspects were gone on arrival. The patrol of the area by police proved negative.
Sept. 20, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they were the victim of fraud, with the suspect impersonating a police officer and accusing the complainant of accessing child pornography on their computer. The complainant attempted to deposit $3,000 in a bitcoin machine but was not successful. The complainant then became suspicious of the situation and contacted the police who provided the complainant with fraud resources and blocked the scammer’s phone numbers.
Sept. 20, Salish Drive: Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The driver provided police with two breath samples which both read “Fail”. As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The driver left the area on foot and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Ladner
Sept. 19, 4800 Block of Ellis Lane: During a traffic stop police suspected the driver of being impaired by a drug or alcohol due to their driving behaviour. The suspect performed poorly on testing and as a result was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and vehicle ticket. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left on foot.
Sept. 19, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they sent $2,940 to someone on Instagram with the promise of receiving $2,800 in investments in return. The money was sent through the complainant’s bank accounts to the TD and RBC banks. The complainant, realizing the situation to be fraudulent, contacted the police and provided screenshots of the activity for further investigation.
Sept. 21, 4300 Block of River Road: Complainant reported their bike stolen from the rear of their residence. The bicycle is described as a charcoal grey youth bike, with green decals, and 26-inch wheels. The bike is valued at $400.
