Oct. 29, 1100 Block of Skana Drive: Complainant reported they are having a home built at this location and surveillance video shows a male arriving in a grey F-100LP vehicle, entering the yard, and stealing at least two wood 2x4’s valued at $100. Previous incidents at this location show masked individuals inside the construction fence. Police have obtained video surveillance to upload for possible identification of the suspect.
Oct. 31, Salish Sea Drive & Hwy 17: Police stopped a vehicle travelling at 131 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver was given a speeding ticket, and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area in a taxi.
Oct. 31, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they received a call from a male pretending to be a defence lawyer, stating their son was in jail and needed $2,500 bail. The complainant sent $2,750 by e-transfer before they realized they were the victim of fraud. The bank advised the complainant that the funds were withdrawn almost immediately after they were sent. The incident is still under investigation.
Nov. 1, 1 Ferry Causeway: Complainant reported their fanny pack stolen while they were asleep on a BC Ferry from Nanaimo to Tsawwassen. The fanny pack is described as black, with “Tech 9” written in red, and contained prescription medication. The incident is under investigation with a review of surveillance video.
Nov. 2, 300 Block of Murphy Drive: Police responded to a report of fireworks and a fire at the park. Police arrived at the scene to find the Delta Fire Department had extinguished a fire in the men’s washroom. The complainant reported observing four youth on e-bikes in the area. The investigation was to continue with a canvass of the neighbourhood for surveillance video.

Oct. 24, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they were selling an item on Facebook Marketplace for $20 and had provided banking information to a buyer to make an e-transfer of funds. The complainant later noticed a transfer of $2,235 out of their savings account. The bank informed the complainant that the funds were not recoverable, and a fraud investigation was conducted. A further transfer of $700 was stopped by the bank. TransUnion, Equifax, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre have been informed of the incident. Police provided the complainant with information about internet safety and fraud.
Oct. 31, 3600 Block of Hwy 17: Police stopped a vehicle which was speeding, passing other vehicles, and tailgating. The vehicle was clocked travelling at 135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver indicated to the police they were attempting to get their passenger to the ferry terminal on time. The driver was given a ticket for driving at an excessive speed, and the vehicle impounded.
Oct. 31, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported receiving a call from a person claiming to be a Telus representative regarding a service upgrade. The complainant provided the caller with their driver’s licence information. The complainant then called Telus who informed them that no such interaction was documented in their system. The bank has frozen the complainants account as a precaution. Police advised the complainant to report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and Equifax as a precaution.
