Tsawwassen
Oct. 1, 6500 Block of 3rd Avenue: Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle leaving the area of a pub. The driver provided two breath samples with both reading “warn.” As a result, the driver was given a three-day immediate driving prohibition. A sober passenger drove the vehicle from the area.
Oct. 3, 4900 Block of Dogwood Drive: Complainant reported they ordered an Apple Watch which was delivered and left at their door by UPS. When they went to retrieve the package, they found the box to be partially opened and the Watch missing. Estimated value of the watch is $700. The complainant is in communication with Apple regarding a reimbursement.
Oct. 3, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported a male and female entered the store and selected Blundstone and Nike shoes and left the store without payment. Both suspects were described as Caucasian with the female having grey hair and the male bald. Both suspects wearing grey coloured clothing.
Oct. 4, 4900 Block of 2nd Avenue: Complainant reported their vehicle broken into while parked on the street. Approximately $10,000 worth of tools were taken from the box of the truck which had been secured with cable, the cable had been cut. Neighbours to be canvassed for surveillance video.
Ladner
Oct. 1, Headquarters 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they received a call from someone claiming to be from TD Canada Trust and asking for banking information. Credit card information provided to the caller as requested. Subsequently, their credit card was compromised with $896 in fraudulent transactions. As the fraudster attempted to convert the transaction into Pakistani currency and send overseas, the bank was able to reverse the transaction without any loss of funds.
Oct. 2, 7700 Block of Progress Way: A business reported the break and enter to a shipping container. The suspects cut the lock on the door and stole various drywall tools valued at $9,000. The property manager provided surveillance video which showed a male and female arriving in a dark-coloured sedan, breaking into the container and loading the tools into the vehicle. The file is under investigation.
Oct. 2, 5500 Block of Chamberlayne Avenue: Complainant reported they left their vehicle locked and secure and when they returned to the vehicle, they discovered it had been entered. Police attended and found the front passenger window broken and two “Taylor Made” golf clubs valued at $4,700 stolen. Police canvassed the neighbours for surveillance video, however nothing of interest was noted.
Oct. 7, 5000 Block of River Road: Complainant provided the licence number of a vehicle which had scraped three vehicles on the Oak Street Bridge and eventually left Highway 99 on the River Road exit. Police located the vehicle leaving the parking lot of a business on River Road and suspected the driver of consuming liquor. The driver provided one breath sample which read “fail” and unequivocally declined to provide a second sample. As a result, the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area by foot.
