The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest.

Jan. 23, 10100 Block of River Road: Police dispatched to a call stating two males were fighting. Police attended and found the males who stated they were having a mutual argument which turned into a pushing match. Both males indicated they did not want to press charges and left to go their separate ways.

Jan. 25, 8800 Block of 118th Street: Complainant reported loud music and voices coming from a neighbouring garage. Police attended and spoke to the noise makers who agreed to turn down the music. Police advised that if they had to return a noise bylaw ticket could be issued. 

Jan. 25, 11700 Block of 87A Avenue: Complainant reported mischief to the rental car parked at their residence. Police attended and found the driver’s side mirror broken off and all four tires flat. No puncture marks found on tires which indicated the air had been let out of the tires. The complainant has no idea why their vehicle would be targeted. The car rental company and ICBC have been informed of the incident. 

Jan. 25, Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Report received that a fight had occurred between a pedestrian and the driver of a vehicle. The driver reported they had a close call with a pedestrian who became agitated and the two “said some words, and got into a tiff” but had settled things themselves and went their separate ways without hard feelings. 

Jan. 26, 8300 Block of 92nd Street: Complainant reported a theft from their business truck sometime over the past several weeks. Police attended, but no surveillance video available.  Complainant provided with a file number and advised to contact ICBC.

Jan. 27, Modesto Drive & Modesto Place: A citizen attended the Public Safety Building and turned in a key fob and three keys on a key chain that had been found on the ground in the Modesto area. The owner can claim upon identification at the Public Safety Building, 11375 84th Avenue.
