A large-scale cannabis greenhouse operation in East Delta continues to expand its product offerings.
Pure Sunfarms this week announced it sent out its first shipment of the company’s new cannabis 2.0 products, including Pure Sun CBD Oil and Full Spectrum Vapes in 510 thread cartridges.
The products will be available to consumers in B.C. in the coming days with Ontario and Alberta to follow.
Pure Sunfarms says its vape cartridges feature full spectrum extract which preserves the cannabinoids and terpenes from the original flower and maintains the aromas and flavours true to cultivar.
Pure Sunfarms’ product portfolio also includes strains of dried flower, large format dried flower, pre-rolls and cannabis seeds.
The company recently began shipping cannabis products to Saskatchewan and Manitoba and its products can also be found in B.C., Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Before the legalization of cannabis in 2018, Village Farms got out of the vegetable business and partnered Emerald Health Therapeutics, Inc. to form a new venture called Pure Sunfarms.
The plan is to eventually have 2.2 million square feet of production space at the facility converted to cannabis.
Meanwhile, according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada, sales of cannabis products from licensed retailers in this country jumped from $91.7 million to $201 million from June 2019 to June 2020.
In B.C., sales grew from $4.2 million to $29.4 million over the same period.
A newly opened cannabis retail store in White Rock last week joined the over 1,000 retailers across the country.
However, the City of Delta currently prohibits the retail shops in all zones and council appears in no hurry to explore the possibility of allowing them.
